Travel Tuesday: 7 Foods the Italians Are Hiding From Us

Carbonara, pesto, pizza -- we, of course, have the Italians to thank for these oh-so-delightful dishes. But things like lasagna, alfredo sauce and garlic bread? That stuff is few and far between once you actually set foot in Italy. We’ve Americanized a lot of the Italian cuisine we all consider so near and dear to our hearts, but there are a few things that the Italians have held onto that you’ll be hard pressed to find anywhere other than sidewalk cafés in Florence and markets in Rome.
