Lunar New Year, a celebration throughout Asia that rings in the new year and recognizes the Chinese zodiac calendar, kicks off today. This year marks the Year of the Pig, a symbol of optimism and wealth, and the festivities garner the biggest family holiday across China. Between fireworks lighting up the sky and red lanterns lining the streets, there’s no shortage of excitement following Lunar New Year, and a big part of that consists of feasting.
