1. Know Your Cheeses
There are seemingly endless types of cheeses out there. Cheese is the primary component of a charcuterie board, and the cheeses you include should pair with all other ingredients. So knowing what general types of cheeses are out there will help you determine what to include. As explained by Harvard’s School of Public Health, “In general, cow’s milk cheese tends to be rich and buttery, goat’s milk cheeses carry a sharp tang, and sheep’s milk cheeses have a mild nutty flavor.” Keep this in mind when choosing cheeses and complementary ingredients for your charcuterie board.
